2019/2020 4NCL
Division 1 Season Result: 1W - 1D - 4L
The season was abandoned due to coronavirus.
Being the lowest ranked team again in Division 1, we were once again heading towards a fight in the demotion pool, though after a win against the 3Cs we were carrying enough points to fight for our place in Division 1 the following season (as well as European places).
Division 4 (Tigers 2nd & 3rd Team)
With two teams in division 4, we were fighting for promotion to Division 3. Unfortunately we will now need to wait until next season to progress here, but some good experience was gained by the cubs, many of which had their first taste of the national league this season.
2019 - European Club Cup
Result: 1W - 1D - 5L
Our first very qualification into the European Club Cup, where a fixed number of club teams from each country qualify to fight it out to become the #1 club in Europe.
At an amazing venue in Montenegro, we were ranked 62/66 going into the competition.
A tough fight was ahead with some of the greats of Europe, competing against teams with the likes of Grandmasters such as: Richard Rapport, Michael Adams, Peter Leko, Gawain Jones, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Dmitry Andreikin, Leinier Dominguez, Pentala Harikrishna, David Navara to only name a few. (Though it was great watching some late night pub blitz)
We achieved some good results, but a last round loss (when we were down a player), meant we finished the tournament in 64th place. A lot of lessons learnt, and we hope to qualify again in the future to challenge ourselves even further.

2018/2019 4NCL
Division 1 Season Result: 4W - 2D - 5L
Our first venture into Division 1 for a number of years. The goal was to stay promoted, and we dreamed of qualifying for Europe.
There were a lot of close fights where a half-point here could have changed our fortunes either way, alas, at the end of the day, lady luck was on our side and we came 12th, keeping us in Division 1 for another season.
We even made the local paper, when our car broke down on the way to the 'must-win' last round.
The division is split into 2 parts:
1) We play a round robin against half the teams in the division (see 1b table below) -> The top 4 go into the Championship pool, with the bottom 4 going into the demotion pool. You take the points with you against the teams which qualify for the same pool.
2) In the demotion pool, top 4 are saved, and 5th - 8th are relegated.
Division 4 (Tigers 2nd Team)
Setting up a second team for the first time in a number of years, the tigers fought hard for the 4 promotion places. It came to the last round where we 'just' couldn't get the wins we needed, finishing a respectable 6th overall. Not bad for a number of players getting their first taste of the national league.
2017/2018 Division 2
Season Result: 7W - 1D - 3L
After a hard fought season, we finished 2nd! This means the tigers are promoted to division 1 for the 18/19 season.
